Terms of Use

Last updated 28 August 2026. By creating an account or using Maths Tycoon you agree to these terms.

These terms describe how the closed beta actually works. They have not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and should receive professional legal review before public launch, particularly the liability, termination and children's-use sections.

1. Accounts

An account should be created by a parent, guardian or supervising teacher on behalf of a child, using an adult-monitored email address. You are responsible for keeping the password safe and for activity on the account. Please use a nickname rather than a child's full real name. One account per child.

2. Acceptable use

When using Maths Tycoon you agree not to:

  • Attempt to cheat, automate play, or tamper with coins, XP, levels, items or leaderboards.
  • Try to access another person's account or data, or probe or attack the service.
  • Choose a username that is offensive, impersonates someone, or reveals personal details.
  • Copy, resell or redistribute the questions, artwork or other content.

3. Virtual coins and items

Gold coins, gems, XP, badges, shop items, pets, collections and investments are pretend, in-game items only. They have no cash value, cannot be bought with real money, cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred, and cannot be redeemed for anything outside the game. In-game "investments" are a maths learning device — they are not financial products and involve no real money. We may adjust balances, prices or rewards to fix faults, abuse or balance issues.

4. No real-money purchases

Maths Tycoon currently has no payments of any kind: no purchases, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no advertising. If that ever changes, we will update these terms and make the change clear before it applies.

5. Beta participation

Maths Tycoon is in closed beta. Access is granted by invitation/approval, features are incomplete and may change or be removed, and faults are expected. Progress, balances and saved data may occasionally be reset during the beta. Feedback you send may be used to improve the product.

6. Intellectual property

The Maths Tycoon name, artwork, characters, question content, code and design belong to us or our licensors, and are provided for personal, non-commercial use by account holders. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.

7. Service availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" during the beta. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content or feature will remain available. We may suspend or change the service at any time.

8. Ending an account

You can request deletion at any time from the Account & data page or by emailing us. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, attacks the service, or where required for safety or legal reasons. We will normally tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.

9. Limitations and responsibilities

Maths Tycoon is a learning aid; it does not replace teaching or a school curriculum, and we do not guarantee particular educational outcomes. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of in-game progress or virtual items. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not affect a consumer's statutory rights.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Confirm with a legal adviser before launch, especially if users outside the UK are admitted.
